It is an island situated in the east of Bali. It is not as famous as Bali but the main reason to visit there is it is not crowded as Bali. You can have a fun time with your friends, family in the peace. The other reasons which make it more attractive is the cheap hotel rooms, quality of food etc.

Lombok means "Chilli" in Indonesian language so you can expect some hot & chilli food there. The best time to visit there is in the month of MAY with a sunny day and a green atmosphere, pleasant breeze flowing on the beach.

The population is around 2.5 million there. They organize a festival  every year in the month

nyale festival

of february called Sea Worm festival or Bau Nyale (In Indonesian language) at Kuta beach. Bau means "to catch" and Nyale means a kind of worm. So in this festival, peoples from different cities gather and participate in this, they first catch the worms and then roast it and eat. They have been served in a banana leaf.  The main religion is Muslim but many other religions are also there.

October to April is the off peak season so you wouldn't get rush on beaches and comparatively low prices to peak season.

• Entry Fee :

No fee. But to enter and while leaving you have to pay a kind of Tax and there is also an Airport tax so you might have to pay several taxes if you are planning to go there.
